What started your passion for this industry?
As I approached middle school, my friends would always ask me to do their hair. "What do you want me to with it,” I would ask. Their responses were always the same "do whatever you want!", so I took every experience and chance. That’s when my passion was ignited - I knew ‘beauty’ was my true passion. I graduated from Thomaston High School in 2002, and then went on to Northwestern Community College. I studied general business. That only lasted for several semesters before realized in my heart, I wanted to pursue beauty. I attended Torrington Beauty Academy, graduating after one year in 2003.
Following that, I obtained my first job that same year. While at my first job, my boss recognized my talent, and helped me finesse my technique and skills; helping me hone in on my weak points and strong areas and making them stronger. She also guided me in the art of barbering.
In January 2017, I started my new journey at Salon Square and I could not be happier or ask for a better environment to express my creativity. The salon is a beautiful, welcoming space and a great place for my clients to relax and enjoy being pampered. I want to thank my team; Kurt, Michael, Erica, and Jesse for making me feel welcomed.
What do you love most about your career?
One of the best feelings about being a stylist is making people feel good about themselves. I love watching the whole process come to fruition and the look of delight on a clients face! Most importantly, I treasure building relationships with my clients. They are much more than just "clients", they are family.
A message for new clients?
"I was born to recreate; my passion is the hair!"
